Or you take down the public Interface accidently but don’t realize what you’ve done because it works locally and your network monitor is not monitoring the public interface but rather then internal one. Example: your pointed to one specific node of a cluster because the clustering happens beyond the nat or something ridiculous like that and a problem is happening on a different note of the customer, but you can’t see it. There’s so many things that can go wrong, or cause a sort of split brained scenario. It seems like such a shitty way of doing it. That is one major design flaw of nat and I’m surprised they haven’t figured this out better than using DNS. I struggle with the nat problem all the time! I am right now! Hence how I found this. I just don’t know why I haven’t even looked into this or know anything about it. The name sounds so familiar and from how I understand it the functionality is super beneficial to almost everyone who doesn’t have an entirely separate, iscolaed cloud farm. But I’ve never heard of NAT hair pinning. ![]() I’ve been a senior sysadmin, an amateur C# Windows/.Net programmer, a network admin and presently kinda all thst as a Cloud Solutions provider. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
